Design An Invite to Gallery Opening for an Artist
Invitation Project Overview
Ok, here we go. The invitation project will go over the design process as well as focus on a completed project with consideration of the elements of design, Alignment, Contrast, Proximity, or Repetition. Invitation should be able to be constructed on 8.5in x 11in paper, 150 resolution. You may use multiple papers, construction paper, and other materials to create it, but they should be smaller than one single sheet of paper. Steps: VERY IMPORTANT DETAILS ABOUT ASSIGNMENT
Pick an event 10 Points Graduation, wedding, birthday, etc., but the event has to be for you or someone you know. You will need to include name(s) when you sign up. It doesn’t have to be real, but has the potential to be real. Invitation Information Handout 25 Points Figure out what needs to be on the invitation, Name(s), date, time, place, what’s happening, attire, RSVP & contact, etc. You will need to determine all appropriate information and complete the handout. Sketches of Invitation Card 45 Points See sketch handouts. You will complete three different sketches. Often people tell me they have a great idea and want to stick with that. How do you know that first idea is the best one? Often artists will create lots and lots of designs before reaching an acceptable design that the client is happy with and the artist can create. You will create three different designs. All should be workable and include two of the elements in each of them. Each Card: 10pts 5pts for non-rectangle design, 5pts for overall design aesthetics, 5 pts for creativeness) Final Invitation, printed and mocked up 100 Points This will be printed in color and assembled for presentation. It should have a non-rectangle design that can be explained to the class.
